I have always had a fascination with black and white and how versatile it can be. I plan on posting on a semi-regular basis various black and white nuggets that inspire me.
As Slick Rick says, “Heeere We Go!”
Esther Stocker. I love her work, particularly her installations. This piece is titled, Abstract Thought is a Warm Puppy (2008).

Alexey Titarenko, from the City of Shadows series.

Accept and Proceed is a design and art facility located in London. These are a couple examples of their Light Calendars.

Photographer Caleb Charland takes amazing photographs with complex set-ups.

Eric Gjerde, a self-described paperologist, has a book coming out in December called Origami Tessellations: Awe-Inspiring Geometric Designs. “Paper artist Eric Gjerde demonstrates 25 of his favorite tessellations and turns them into folding projects for newcomers as well as experienced origamists. With step-by-step instructions, illustrated crease patterns, and how-to photos, you’ll learn to create these wonderful designs yourself.”

Eric’s work is stunning and quite obviously the product of many, many hours folding paper. What always amazes me about his work is that he never uses pencil lines or scoring, only fold creases. Amazing.
For this year’s Poster Offensive, I had the honor of collaborating with Eric. By chance I had seen his work, while doing some visual research on my hero, Buckminster Fuller. Eric’s work is just what the poster needed. Thanks Eric!

I have sold out of these posters, but I plan on printing another edition. If you’re interested, please contact me.
